Learn To Sing With Your Best Voice
You've tried singing before, but your voice isn't coming out the way you hoped. You want to sing, but you are having difficulty figuring out what to do to hit the notes you want to hit, feel good about how you sound, or make progress on the songs you want to sing. Sound familiar?
My name is Teresa, and I've been in your shoes. I know what it's like when you keep trying to sing well, and feel like it isn't working.
At 13, I heard my favorite artist singing, and thought to myself, “I REALLY want to sing like that!! I need to be just like her!” At the time, I had no idea where to begin. When I would hear myself on a recording, I thought my voice was terrible. I wanted to sing in front of people, but when it came time to try, I completely froze because I was afraid of how my voice sounded.
In Junior High there was a music festival in our school district, so to help me participate my band teacher helped me as much as he could, but I still felt very nervous, and I couldn’t normally get the sounds I was hoping for. Many times I doubted I was capable of singing at all.
As a high school student, I decided to join choir and learned a bit from the choir teacher, but things still felt confusing and like an uphill battle to figure out how to get my voice to do what I wanted it to. Sometimes it felt stuck in my throat, or hard to express it strong enough. At other times it felt awkward singing high notes because they were uncomfortable or didn't correctly match the notes. I still felt embarrassed at times about my voice, so performing was still incredibly nerve wracking. I wanted very much to sing for people, but was still full of self doubt.
When I finally found a teacher who helped me get to know my voice, relax and release as I sang, and use my voice correctly to be expressive, things changed. I finally felt like I could do it!!! It had been a long road, but there was now a light at the end of the tunnel and I started to enjoy singing in the way I had always wanted to.
I am here to help YOU find your light at the end of the tunnel, finally sing with a good sound, have an enjoyable experience with your singing, and impress your friends with your awesome voice.

What Doesn't Work
Maybe you have tried YouTube Videos or DVD's, but weren't able to sustain progress to your satisfaction. Perhaps someone in your life who has sung before but is not a teacher gave you advice, but it didn't work very well or didn't last. Or, you have tried on your own but things still feel difficult.
Or, you may have tried pushing too big too fast, working on lots of powerful exercises without maintaining good quality, and now have a vocal sound that is difficult to control.
While some of the above paths may have temporary solutions or seem like they work at first, you aren't getting answers to your biggest questions, real time feedback about your voice, and what the best next step will be to developing a good quality sound.

What Makes These Lessons Different From Other Singing Lessons in Puyallup
The fact is, not all singing lessons are the same. Most teachers are not trained in how to teach, nor do they have a strategy for helping you. I am trained year round on vocal techniques to help you sing country, pop, rock, or R&B with a voice your friends like hearing. I create a roadmap for you that helps you understand how your voice works, and gain confidence so you can get the vocal tone you need to sing the songs you want to sing.
Since I started lessons with Teresa, I’ve noticed I’m more confident in my voice, and have an accurate understanding of where I am versus not knowing. Before, I would be really confident if I was at a bar after a few drinks. I wouldn’t be very proud of what people heard if I heard it without those two drinks. Now, I feel it’s less shaky, I feel more confident. [Before] I didn’t know there was a difference between singing one way or the other. Now I understand the different tones I can make. I know I have multiple, which is powerful.”

Many years ago I took a few singing lessons. It was frustrating to me at first before I came to Miss Teresa’s lessons here. I was always struggling, getting frustrated, my throat getting tired and achy, and I just couldn’t hold the notes. But compared to now miss Teresa has given me the confidence to follow through…it has paid off from the first time I came...up to now I can see a 100% difference." Steven Butler Driver Supervisor |

"When I came, I had anxiety about whether I was using my voice correctly. It's 100% difference from starting where I was completely lost on where to find my voice and now knowing where that is. I started with a very simple goal… that's evolved very quickly to I want to get my own studio equipment, I want to go sing, I want to record myself. Every time I leave I feel like I'm singing better than the last lesson. It's a lot easier with the guidance that comes from Teresa and the lessons. With her kind of guidance and input it becomes a more kind of effortless task to be able to sing those notes and feels a lot more natural."

"I have improved a lot. [Before lessons] there was a lot more imitation vs finding my original voice. Now seeing how everything works, where you can put your voice and the different things you can use to make it sound the way you want it to sound, [singing] has become immensely better. I am so much more comfortable with going higher up in my notes and lower in my notes because I know where to place my voice. Teresa always seems to find a way to manipulate my voice that would work better for me. I know I’m going to sound more like myself than the artist."

"I feel like I’ve improved way over 100 %. Before I started taking vocal lessons, my desire was huge but my fear level was quite high. I had a lot of trouble getting up in front of people and singing. After training, stage fright is gone, confidence is improving, and I’m getting better week after week. No more nervousness; now its about creating happiness through the music. I feel tremendously confident in my abilities to get up and perform, perform confidently and sit in with any group of musicians and just sing. Completely at ease now."

Before I might have sang a few songs. Now, there's quite a few different songs and I’ll write them down and say, 'hey I wanna go back and sing that song and really get that song down.' It's opening up my outlook on different songs and taught my brain how to tackle those songs that before I wouldn’t have tackled. It's an exciting adventure to get into.
